Meet the board

Ms Evelyn Horton (Chair)
B.Ec, M.Soc.Sci. (Econs), FAICD
Evelyn is an experienced company director who has served on a range of commercial, government and not-for-profit boards. She is the Commissioner of Superannuation in Tasmania, a director of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation, Chair of the Glebe Administration Board and a member of the Standing Committee of the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Evelyn’s executive experience included 15 years in investment banking and over a decade at the Commonwealth Treasury in Canberra.  In banking, Evelyn worked in mergers and acquisitions before taking on a succession of senior roles in risk management at a large Australian investment bank. She worships at St Philips Church Hill. Evelyn was appointed to the Board on 6 September 2021 and appointed as Chair on 1 August 2024.
Dr Steevie Chan
MBBS (Syd), MHA (UNSW), Grad Dip Bible & Mission (SMBC), FRACMA 
Steevie is a medical practitioner and educator with more than 30 years’ experience in health care and tertiary education, spanning public and private sectors. He is currently the District Director of Medical Services at the Central Coast Local Health District and was recently Dean and Professor of the School of Medicine (Sydney) at the University of Notre Dame Australia. He has a deep commitment to health care quality and patient safety and contributes to health outcomes research and education. Steevie has held senior roles in major teaching hospitals and the NSW Health Department, including as the Senior Policy Adviser for the Minister for Health; and Clinical Senior Lecturer (Population Medicine) at the University of Sydney. He has postgraduate and specialist qualifications in health administration and public health, and was formerly Chair, Board of Studies, Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (NSW). He has extensive experience in corporate governance through his Board membership of Research Institutes, not-for-profit companies and church-related organisations. He was appointed to the Board in March 2021.
The Rev Eric Cheung
BE, BD
Eric is the Senior Minister at St Philip’s Anglican Church, Caringbah and was previously Senior Associate at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Castle Hill. Prior to theological studies, he was a Systems Consultant with experience designing and integrating sophisticated computing systems. Eric also serves as a member of the Sydney Church of England Grammar (Shore) School Council. Eric was appointed to the Board on 17 October 2018.
Mr Peter Hicks
BTP, M.Econ, FAICD
Peter is an independent company director. He has previously held senior leadership positions including CEO of Moorebank Intermodal Company and CFO of Leighton Contractors. He possesses deep commercial, building and financial experience and more than 15 years’ experience as a board member on several not- for-profit and commercial boards. Peter is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds tertiary qualifications in economics, planning and management. He is chairman of SCEGGS Darlinghurst and the Sydney Anglican Church Growth Corporation. He was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2016.
Dr Linda Kurti
FCHSM, PhD, MPhil, B.A
Linda is Managing Director of Stillpoint Strategy and was previously Group Director of Economic and Social Advisory at Urbis, an Australian consulting firm. Dr Kurti advises on a range of public policy issues, including health, aged care, and community services. She was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2016.
Bishop Gary Koo
MBBS, BD
Gary was appointed the Bishop of Western Sydney in 2019. He had previously served as the Senior Minister of the parish of Carlingford and North Rocks. The child of Malaysian migrants, Gary trained as a medical doctor and worked for six years before becoming a Christian minister. He has a particular interest in serving people from cross-cultural backgrounds. He was appointed to the Board on 23 March 2020.
Prof Jonathan Morris AM
MB ChB, FRANZCOG, MM, DDU, CMFM, PhD, FAHMS
Jonathan is an obstetrician and specialises in the care of high-risk pregnancy. He has held a number of senior positions including the Head of the University of Sydney’s Northern Clinical School, based at the Royal North Shore Hospital, and the Director of the Kolling Institute. He has a strong track record in health research and the use of data to improve the quality and appropriateness of health care. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Australian Preterm Birth Alliance and is Medical Lead for a NSW Maternity Safety Program within the Clinical Excellence Commission. Jonathan has been a Director of Stillbirth Foundation Australia since 2008 and served as its Chair from 2010 to 2021. He is also a Director of The NORTH Foundation (formerly the Kolling Foundation). Jonathan was appointed to the Board in March 2021.
Mr Rod Dring
BEc, FCA, GAICD
Rod has over 35 years’ experience in professional services and is currently an audit and assurance partner of PwC, having served in this role for the past 26 years. His experience extends to providing advice in the areas of audit, risk management, internal controls, transaction support, regulatory reporting and governance practices to a wide variety of industries. He has lived and worked in the USA and UK and has held a number of industry leadership roles in PwC covering Australia and Asia. Rod is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served on a number of not for profit and industry boards and is currently on the School Council of Abbotsleigh. He was appointed to the Board on 28 March 2023.
The Rev Catherine Wynn Jones
BTH, Dip Min
Catherine is currently serving as a Chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy. Previously she worked as a registered nurse and midwife both in Australia, England and Uganda before training for ministry in 1990 and ordained Deacon in the Sydney Anglican Diocese in 2014.
Catherine served for several years as Associate Minister at Darling Street Anglican Church in Rozelle and Balmain East. Prior to Navy, she was Chaplain for the Professional Standards Unit for the Sydney Anglican Diocese. In this role, she supported survivors of abuse and misconduct, assisting in the Royal Commission into Institutional responses to Child Sexual Abuse and as a facilitator of the Sydney Diocesan Policy on Domestic Abuse.
For a number of years, Catherine served as Vice Chairman of Meriden School Strathfield. Presently Catherine serves on the Defence Force Board.
She was appointed to the Board in September 2024.
