In a major step towards delivering much-needed social and affordable housing in Sydney's south-west, Anglicare will serve as operator and provider of wrap-around services in two exciting new developments in Bankstown and Regents Park.
Following a significant amount of planning, hard work and prayer, the developments will take place on the current site of St Paul’s Anglican Church Bankstown and a former church site in Regents Park.
The Bankstown development will deliver 185 social and affordable housing units for essential workers, seniors and women over 55, while the Regents Park site will be transformed into 74 social housing units with shared community spaces for foster connection among residents.
As part of the Bankstown project, Sydney Anglican Property will also oversee the delivery of a new church and ministry centre for worship and community use, a preschool to support young families, retail and commercial spaces and a rectory for the church’s Senior Minister.
With our strong track record in managing social and affordable housing developments, currently 700+ units across NSW, Anglicare is delighted to partner with Sydney Anglican Property (SAP) and Sustainable Development Group (SDG) in these major projects. Funding has been secured through the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).
The alignment of SAP’s mission to use church property to meet the needs of both current and future generations and Anglicare’s mission to serve people in need, enrich lives and share the love of Jesus provides a firm foundation for these developments. We pray that they will be a great blessing to both churches and their wider communities.
