Waking up to the gentle sound of chatter and the aroma of fresh coffee as you start your day at Piper House. Surrounded by the peaceful backdrop of the Illawarra escarpment, life here feels connected to nature, yet close to everything you love about Dapto.
You take your time getting ready, there’s no rush here. The team respects your pace, ensuring mornings are just how you like them. Not far away, the dining room is filling up with friendly faces, and your favourite breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast is waiting.
Community
After breakfast, you join your friends on the terrace to plan the next group of activities. A lively bunch, there’s no shortage of ideas, and the wonderful team at Piper House will try their best to deliver on the suggestions. An outing to the zoo appears to be top of the list - that will be a fun day out with this bunch.
At 10:30 am the cafe area starts to fill as residents find their seats ready for coffee club - a social gathering where life stories are shared, and connections are made.
Later, you decide you will try your hand at fishing, it will be great to get near the water and learn something new while spending time with friends. With rods in hand and laughter filling the air, you and your friends settle in for an enjoyable afternoon on the water.
Dining
When lunch and dinner comes around, the dining room has a vibrant energy. Mealtimes are an enjoyable experience that you look forward to, socialising with your friends and often with a glass of wine. You’re grateful for the variety of choice and freshly prepared options the hospitality team prepare each day. Next month you’ve decided to join the food focus group to work with the team on the next menu. You have always enjoyed cooking, so you’re pleased to be involved and contribute.
Home
As you retire to your room for the evening, you reflect on your day and your time at Piper House so far. A big decision at the time to leave your family home, and everything that was familiar to you, but you’re pleased you did. You’re happy you made the move on your own terms, choosing a residential aged care home that feels right for you, a place where you can embrace the social atmosphere, enjoy activities, continue your favourite hobbies, and even explore new ones.
Yet perhaps what you value most are the friendships you’ve built since moving in. On quieter days, when you’re not up for much, it’s comforting to know that you’re surrounded by a supportive and friendly community.
You also appreciate the respectful balance of independence and care the staff provide, they’re always there when you need them.
This is now your home, a place where you feel safe, respected and loved.
