Waking up to the sound of gentle chatter filtering down the hall. It’s breakfast time, but there’s no need to rush. The team at Goodhew Gardens and Bay Breeze know you like to start your mornings slowly, and the extended breakfast hours make that possible.
Enjoying a quiet moment to yourself before heading out, you’re already looking forward to your favourite breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and a cup of English Breakfast Tea. It used to be a weekend treat, but here, it’s yours to enjoy every day.
After showering, you get dressed and make your bed, just how you like it. The staff here respect your desire for independence and autonomy. It's a small thing, but it makes all the difference, and it’s comforting to know they’re there when you need them. ;
Community
At 10am you head down to the Sunshine Cafe, the social hub, you wouldn’t miss it. Goodhew Gardens and Bay Breeze are both such friendly homes and you cherish the opportunity to catch up with your new friends over a warm scone and cup of tea. Today is trivia, guaranteed to generate much laughter and wonderful sense of community and connection.
Afterwards you grab a seat on the terrace to read the newspaper, catching up on the daily news. You look up to see George, gardening gloves and spade in hand. He loves gardening and has created a relaxing space for everyone to enjoy.
Dining
When lunch and dinner comes around, the dining room has a vibrant energy. Mealtimes are an enjoyable experience that you look forward to, socialising with your friends and often with a glass of wine. You’re grateful for the variety of choice and freshly prepared options the hospitality team prepare each day. Next month you’ve decided to join the food focus group to work with the team on the next menu. You have always enjoyed cooking, so you’re pleased to be involved and contribute.
Home
As you retire to your room for the evening, you reflect on your day and your time at Goodhew Gardens and Bay Breeze so far. A big decision at the time to leave your family home, and everything that was familiar to you, but you’re pleased you did. You’re happy you made the move on your own terms, choosing a residential aged care home that feels right for you, a place where you can embrace the social atmosphere, enjoy activities, continue your favourite hobbies, and even explore new ones.
Yet perhaps what you value most are the friendships you’ve built since moving in. On quieter days, when you’re not up for much, it’s comforting to know that you’re surrounded by a supportive and friendly community.
You also appreciate the respectful balance of independence and care the staff provide, they’re always there when you need them.
This is now your home, a place where you feel safe, respected and loved.
