You wake up to the peaceful sound of birdsong filtering through your window and the scent of fresh dew lingering in the air. Mornings here are calm and unhurried – the caring staff know you prefer a slow start to the day, and breakfast is ready whenever you are.
As you sip your tea, you think about how much you love the beautiful gardens that surround Warrina. They’re not just a peaceful retreat but a favourite spot to connect with others, take a stroll, or enjoy a quiet moment with family and friends.
Community
After breakfast, you join friends for friendship group - an opportunity to connect with each other and welcome new people, ensuring everyone feels welcome. There are always many stories to share with much joy and laughter. Later, you join your friends for the knitting group, something you’ve always enjoyed doing. Lately you’ve been teaching some of the staff how to knit, it appears to be coming popular again with the young ones. Dining
When lunch and dinner comes around, the dining room has a vibrant energy. Mealtimes are an enjoyable experience that you look forward to, socialising with your friends and often with a glass of wine. You’re grateful for the variety of choice and freshly prepared options the hospitality team prepare each day. Next month you’ve decided to join the food focus group to work with the team on the next menu. You have always enjoyed cooking, so you’re pleased to be involved and contribute.
Home
As you retire to your room for the evening, you reflect on your day and your time at Warrina so far. A big decision at the time to leave your family home, and everything that was familiar to you, but you’re pleased you did. You’re happy you made the move on your own terms, choosing a residential aged care home that feels right for you, a place where you can embrace the social atmosphere, enjoy activities, continue your favourite hobbies, and even explore new ones.
Yet perhaps what you value most are the friendships you’ve built since moving in. On quieter days, when you’re not up for much, it’s comforting to know that you’re surrounded by a supportive and friendly community.
You also appreciate the respectful balance of independence and care the staff provide, they’re always there when you need them.
This is now your home, a place where you feel safe, respected and loved.
