Waking up to the sound of gentle chatter filtering down the hall. It’s breakfast time, but there’s no need to rush. The team at Roden Cutler Lodge know you like to start your mornings slowly, and the extended breakfast hours make that possible.
Enjoying a quiet moment to yourself before heading out, you’re already looking forward to your favourite breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and a cup of English Breakfast Tea. It used to be a weekend treat, but here, it’s yours to enjoy every day.
After showering, you get dressed and make your bed, just how you like it. The staff respect your desire for independence and autonomy. It's a small thing, but it makes all the difference, and it’s comforting to know they’re there when you need them.
Community
After breakfast, you join your new friends for a walk in the gardens. The peaceful bushland is the perfect backdrop for a good chat. Sitting together on the bench, it feels like the best way to start the day. Later, you have an art class. You’ve not only discovered a new hobby you love but have made some new friends in the process.
The rest of the day is just as full. A delicious lunch with a glass of wine, and an afternoon playing mahjong and cards with friends, it’s a life filled with connection, activity, and joy.
Dining
When lunch and dinner comes around, the dining room has a vibrant energy. Mealtimes are an enjoyable experience that you look forward to, socialising with your friends and often with a glass of wine. You’re grateful for the variety of choice and freshly prepared options the hospitality team prepare each day. Next month you’ve decided to join the food focus group to work with the team on the next menu. You have always enjoyed cooking, so you’re pleased to be involved and contribute.
Home
As you retire to your room for the evening, you reflect on your day and your time at Roden Cutler Lodge so far. A big decision at the time to leave your family home, and everything that was familiar to you, but you’re pleased you did. You’re happy you made the move on your own terms, choosing a residential aged care home that feels right for you, a place where you can embrace the social atmosphere, enjoy activities, continue your favourite hobbies, and even explore new ones.
Yet perhaps what you value most are the friendships you’ve built since moving in. On quieter days, when you’re not up for much, it’s comforting to know that you’re surrounded by a supportive and friendly community.
You also appreciate the respectful balance of independence and care the staff provide, they’re always there when you need them.
This is now your home, a place where you feel safe, respected and loved.
